One of his later major works is the tokusatsu series Garo in 2005. The series spawned numerous sequels and spinoffs, including anime spinoffs such as Garo the Animation, Garo: Crimson Moon, Garo: Divine Flame, Garo -Vanishing Line-, and Usuzumizakura -Garo-. Amemiya also directed the Kamen Rider ZO and Kamen Rider J tokusatsu series in 1993 and 1994, respectively.
