Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga Game's Global Launch Delayed by 'a Few Months'

Worldwide launch once slated for this summer

Publisher refint/games announced on Saturday that the worldwide release of Nihon Falcom's Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga crossover fighting game will be delayed by "a few months," from its previously announced summer release. The company cited an unforeseen circumstance outside of its control that prevents the company from continuing work, and the company has been forced to reassess the game's release schedule and make the necessary adjustments.

The game is getting a worldwide release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam/Epic Games/GOG. The release will feature fully English dubbed audio as well as the original Japanese audio with English subtitles. The English dub cast features returning members.

The game originally launched in Japan in July 2010 for the PlayStation Portable. The English publisher describes the game:

NIS America released The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II (The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN-) game for Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG in English on February 14. The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN- launched for PS4 and PS5 in Japan in September 2022. The game debuted for Switch in Japan under the title The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II for Nintendo Switch in July 2024.

Ys X: Proud Nordics, an updated version of Nihon Falcom's Ys X: Nordics game, launched on July 31 for Nintendo Switch 2. Ys X: Nordics is the latest entry in Nihon Falcom's Ys role-playing game series. The game launched in Japan for PS5, PS4, and Switch in September 2023. NIS America released Ys X: Nordics in English on October 25 for PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
