Hayate the Combat Butler's Kenjirou Hata Launches New Manga

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
More details about new monthly manga will be revealed in August

This year's 32nd issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is announcing on Wednesday that manga creator Kenjirō Hata (Hayate the Combat Butler) will launch a new monthly manga series in the magazine's 40th issue, which Shogakukan will publish on September 2.

Hata is currently writing the manga. Weekly Shonen Sunday will announce further details about the manga, including the illustrator, the story, and the title, in the magazine's 36th/37th combined issue of the magazine, which Shogakukan will publish on August 5.

The magazine also notes that Hata's Hayate the Combat Butler manga series will continue as normal. As a result, Hata will be serializing an "unprecedented" two manga simultaneously in the same weekly magazine, even if they are not coming out in the same frequency.

Hata launched his Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku!) manga series in Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2004. Shogakukan published the 45th compiled book volume of the manga on June 18. The manga has been adapted into four television anime series, a 59-minute film, and a three-episode original video anime. Viz Media is publishing the manga in North America, and released the 25th volume in English on February 10. It will release the 26th volume in English in September.
