Square Enix released PS Vita version in English on Tuesday after fan feedback

Square Enix North America and Square Enix UK both began streaming launch trailers on Friday for the PlayStation Vita release of the Adventures of Mana game. Square Enix released the game worldwide in English on the PS Vita on Tuesday.

Square Enix released the English remake of the Final Fantasy Adventure (Seiken Densetsu -Final Fantasy Gaiden-) action role-playing game for iOS and Android devices on February 4. The game's Japanese version launched on the same day for the PlayStation Vita as well as iOS and Android devices. Square Enix had said in February that it was considering releasing an English version of the game on PS Vita after receiving fan feedback.

The English website's tagline reads, "Relieve the excitement of Final Fantasy Adventure—a timeless classic remastered for a new generation." The remake features the story and main characters from the original game such as Hero, Heroine, Shadow Night, Bogard, and Chocobo. The website also describes the game's story:

Enshrined atop Mt. Illusia, high above the lofty clouds, stands the Tree of Mana. Drawing its life energy from the boundless celestial aether, the sentinel grows in silence. Legend holds that he who lays his hands upon its trunk will be granted power eternal — a power that the Dark Lord of Glaive now seeks to further fuel his bloody quest for domination.
Our unlikely hero is one of countless gladiators indentured to the Duchy of Glaive. Each day, he and his ill-fated companions are dragged from their cells and bade to fight exotic beasts for the amusement of the Dark Lord. if victorious, they are thrown back into the dungeons with just enough bread to tide them over until their next match. But a body can only take so much, and it is never long before the weary captives succumb to their cruel fates.

Game developer Square (now Square Enix) released the original Final Fantasy Adventure for Game Boy in 1991. The game was the first in the Mana series.
