Game ships in N. America, Europe on PS4 on January 24

Sega began streaming an English video for its Yakuza 0 (Ryū ga Gotoku 0: Chikai no Basho) game on Thursday. The video shows the different fighting styles of Kiryu and Majima.

The game will ship in North America and Europe on on the PlayStation 4 on January 24 in both physical and digital versions. The game will have a limited launch edition that includes a stainless steel business card holder.

Sega describes the game:

The 1980s in Japan were defined by unprecedented amounts of decadent overindulgence – and nothing was out of greed's reach, especially in Kamurocho. A chilly but electric Tokyo in December 1988 is the backdrop for Kazuma Kiryu's ascension into the ranks of the Yakuza – the name given to members of notorious crime organizations. And with Yakuza 0, newcomers to SEGA® of America, Inc.'s Yakuza series will be able to get in on the ground floor, with the game's standalone, story-driven action that focuses on navigating the seedy underworld of Japan with series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, and for the first time in a numbered title, players will be able to play as long-time NPC, Goro Majima – the Mad Dog of shimano.

Yakuza 0 shipped in Japan for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on March 12, 2015. Sega also released a free-to-play PlayStation Vita app on February 26, 2015. The game inspired limited edition PS Vita, PS Vita TV, and PS4 consoles.

Sega will release both the Yakuza Kiwami (Ryū ga Gotoku Kiwami) and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (Ryū ga Gotoku 6: Inochi no Uta) games in the West on PlayStation 4.

Yakuza: Kiwami will release in a digital and physical format in summer 2017. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is the first mainline release in the franchise that will keep the subtitle in the English title of the game. Sega will release the game in the West in early 2018. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life shipped in Japan on the PlayStation 4 on December 8. The game is inspiring an online live-action adaptation with a completely new story that will premiere on January 11.

Sega released Yakuza 5 in the West with all the original Japanese DLC in December 2015.
