Game slated for release in N. America on Friday after delay

PlayStation Japan began streaming a nine-minute gameplay video on Friday for the Gravity Rush 2 PlayStation 4 game. The video shows Kat navigating through the game's environments using the variety of gravity powers at her disposal, including Lunar and Jupiter styles.

PlayStation Japan began streaming a live-action promotional video earlier this month starring Nogizaka46 member Marika Itō and Shizuru Takada.

The game will ship on Wednesday in Europe, Thursday in Japan, and Friday in North America after a delay. The developers will release a planned premium DLC for the game for free due to the delay. The free DLC "Another Story: The Ark of Time — Raven's Choice" will be available in March.

Those who pre-order the game from participating retailers will receive an alternate white costume DLC for Kat, as well as the Select Soundtrack featuring nine tracks from the game. Those who pre-order the game on the PlayStation Store will receive an instant reward of 10 PSN avatars.

The sequel game introduces the new character Angel, "who shows up to help Kat when she's in a bind, quickly dispensing of a group of pesky Nevi enemies. Angel is a superheroine with an aggressive and wild fighting style, and packs an overwhelming punch to her attacks. She also has a crystallization ability that helps her to regenerate health instantly."

The game will also feature tag-team battles and three gravity manipulation styles. In addition to the regular gravity manipulation from the first game, the game introduces Lunar style, which makes the player character Kat lighter and quicker, and Jupiter style, which makes Kat heavier and more powerful.

The game received a prequel "special animation" by Khara, the studio behind the new Evangelion films. Gravity Rush: The Animation - Overture bridges the gap between the original Gravity Rush and the sequel. The special aired on TV Tokyo on December 26, and the North American and European PlayStation YouTube channels streamed the anime.
