Try Knights Anime's Video Previews Opening, Reveals July 30 Premiere

Shōgo Sakamoto performs opening song "Mugen no Try"

The official website for the television anime of Senzoku Erisawa and Shunsaku Yano's Try Knights manga began streaming a promotional video for the anime on Friday. The video reveals and previews the anime's opening theme song "Mugen no Try" (Infinite Try) by Shōgo Sakamoto. The video also reveals the anime's July 30 premiere. The site also revealed a new visual.

In addition, the site announced that former rugby player Daisuke Ohata will host a "Rugby Lesson" segment of the anime, where he will explain elements of the sport.

The anime will premiere on NTV on July 30, and will stream on Hulu and d Anime Store on the same day. The anime will also air on Yomiuri TV, Sapporo TV, Aomori TV, TV Iwate, Miyagi TV, Fukushima TV, TV Niigata, Fukuoka Broadcasting System, Hiroshima TV, Shizuoka Daiichi TV, TOS TV Oita, and TV Kumamoto Co., Ltd.

The anime's cast includes:

Shōgo Sakamoto as Riku Haruma

KENN as Akira Kariya

Seiji Maeda as Tomomi Hōryū, who played volleyball until junior high school, before joining the rugby team upon entering high school

Shūta Morishima as Pearce Valentine Shōtani, who helps out different teams

Yoshiki Nakajima as Seiichirō Nade, the student council vice-president and former rugby team captain

Takuma Terashima as Tori Fuyuhara, the reliable captain of the rugby team.

Kōhei Amasaki as Sōya Randō, the cool-headed key member of the rugby team.

Hidenori Takahashi as Keita Oguma, a cheerful person who leads everyone with a smile.

Takuya Satō as Reo Asamiya, a third-year student and the brilliant rugby team captain of Sekirei High School

Wataru Urata as Yukiya Katashiro, the Sekirei second-year student who has own aesthetic sense that comes through in his plays

Tomoya Fukui as Akiomi Suruga, a third-year student and the rugby team vice captain of Sekirei High School

Shun Horie as Rinto Arimura, a first-year student and the manager of the Kinosaki High School rugby team

Haruki Ishiya as Shōgo Tenkawa, a Kinosaki High School second-year student and the rugby team captain who spends more time being a delinquent than practicing with the team

GONZO is producing the series. The Japan Rugby Football Union is cooperating on the anime. (Japan will host the 2019 Rugby World Cup this fall.)

Ivy to Fraudulent Game will perform the series' ending theme song "Moyō" (Pattern).

The manga's story centers on high school students Akira Kariya and Riku Haruma. One day, the new rugby club member Akira gets advice on running from Riku, who used to be absorbed in rugby but gave it up because he lacked the physique for the sport. Akira takes an interest in Riku, and Riku's passion for rugby gradually returns. By joining forces, the pair can play a new tactical game and aim for the top of high school rugby.

The series launched with Erisawa's art and Yano's scenario in Monthly Comic Gene in June 2018. Rihito Takarai (Ten Count, Graineliers) provided the original character designs, and Try Knights Union is credited with the original concept. Kadokawa released the first and second compiled book volumes for the series on March 27.
