Voice Actor Robert Axelrod Passes Away

Booking agency Mobile Monicker Productions announced on voice actor Robert Axelrod's Twitter account on Sunday that Axelrod passed away on Saturday in Los Angeles. He was 70.
Axelrod was born and raised in New York City, and starting acting in commercials and theater as a child. He then played as a guitarist in the early 1970s before returning to acting as a voiceover artist in the early 1980s. Mobile Monicker Productions noted that he voiced over 150 characters. He is perhaps best known as the voice of Lord Zedd and Finster from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. He also voiced several characters in the Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02 televison anime series, including Wizardmon, Armadillomon, MegaSeadramon, Vademon, Ankylomon, and Shakkoumon.
He voiced roles in such anime as Lupin the 3rd: The Mystery of Mamo (Mamo in Streamline dub), Farewell Space Battleship Yamato (Dr. Sane), and Neo-Tokyo (Tsutomu Sugioka). He also voiced Kamiya in the live-action Zeiram film. In addition to his voice work, he appeared onscreen in The Blob's 1988 remake, Star Trek: Voyager, and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!
