Amazon Japan is currently listing detailed images from the January 2020 issue of Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine, one of which reveals that Mao Nanami will launch a new manga titled Bokura no Star Girl (Our Star Girl) in the magazine's February 2020 issue, which will ship on December 28. The January 2020 issue will ship on Saturday.

The manga will center on an angel who descends to earth to a middle school in a rural area, and becomes an amazingly beautiful national actress.

Nanami's Real Girl (3D Kanojo) romantic comedy manga ran in Kodansha's Dessert magazine from July 2011 to May 2016, and Kodansha published the series in 12 compiled volumes. The manga has 1.2 million copies in print. Kodansha Comics is releasing the manga digitally in English.

The manga inspired a 12-episode anime adaptation that premiered in April 2018. The anime then received a second season that premiered in January. A live-action film adaptation of the manga titled 3D Kanojo Real Girl opened in Japan in September 2018.
