At its Anime NYC 2025 panel on Friday, Publang, a BL-centered manhwa/webtoon/web novel publisher, revealed the upcoming release of four titles — two manhwa and two web novels — scheduled to launch next year.

The new lineup includes the manhwa in print Payback and Debut or Die!, alongside a print version of the web novel December and a serialization of the Passion novel.

Publang, which began as a translation agency, has since grown into a publisher with a mission to produce the most faithful and contextually resonant translations possible. At the panel, the company emphasized its core editorial philosophy, “The Art of Localization," which rests on guiding principles:

  • Faithful to the Original – Prioritizing the preservation of the author's voice and intent with minimal changes.
  • Contextual Localization – Maintaining cultural markers such as Korean familial terms like “hyung” while restructuring text for clarity and flow in English.

The webtoon Payback, created by Fujoking and SAMK, is also available on Lehzin. Publang's physical release of the manhwa will be its first BL manhwa in print. The print version will be uncensored. Publang is also releasing the original web novel digitally on its service and through Tapas and Tappytoon.

The webtoon Debut or Die! — created by SOHEUN, jangjin, and DS.Back — is also available on Tapas. Publang's release of the manhwa in print will be its first non-BL manhwa print release.

The web novel December, written by SAMK, is available on Publang digitally. Publang has been serializing the novel for almost a year, and the new release will be the printed edition.

The web novel Passion — written by DDANGSUNI, GangJak, Hound, and YUUJI — is also available on TappyToon. Publang will serialize the web novel digitally.

The company plans to allow more commenting on its website by creating threads, upvotes, and gifts. Some of the company's most recent and upcoming releases include Ijen's Codename Anastasia web novel (available now), Boyseason's DASH: To My Dearest Medalist (available now), Marine Code's Paws and Claws web novel (temporary title, releasing in November), and Seomonhwa's Ebony Castle web novel (releasing in December).
