Muse Asia Adds The Price of Smiles Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Tatsunoko Productions' 55th anniversary original anime premiered in 2019

Muse Asia added the The Price of Smiles (Egao no Daika) anime to its catalog, beginning with the first episode on Monday. The company will release a new episode every day.

Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North America, and it describes the anime:

On a world far removed from the Earth, there is a certain kingdom that's brimming with smiles. Fate thrusts young Princess Yuki, filled with idealism, joy, and innocence, into a station in life for which her most endearing qualities are ill-matched. Her kingdom faces grave danger as the Empire threatens the realm's security. Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the conflict, an imperial soldier known as Stella Shining hides behind a facade. However, a time may come where her mask cracks, potentially costing her everything. Princess Yuki and Stella's paths will cross, and the fate of nations will follow.

Tatsunoko Productions' original television anime premiered in January 2019 to mark the studio's 55th anniversary.

Toshimasa Suzuki (Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne, Fafner: Heaven and Earth) directed at Tatsunoko Productions, and Shinichi Inotsume (Hayate the Combat Butler, PERSONA 5 the Animation) was in charge of the series scripts. NOB-C (Musasino!, Urawa no Usagi-chan) was credited with the original character designs, as well as the original story concept with Hikaru Yuasa. Naoto Nakamura (Miss Monochrome assistant character design, High School Fleet) designed the characters for animation.
