Manga adapts Gin Tanio's supernatural novel series

The June issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine revealed on Friday that manga creator Hiroichi will launch a manga adaptation of Gin Tanio's Sono Jubutsu, Toriatsukai ni Tsuki (Please Handle the Sacred Artifact Carefully) novel series on Kadokawa's Kadocomi website in June.

The novel series centers on Yoshihito Naruse, a normal police patrolman. When he rushes to a scene with his superior officer, he quickly finds himself unconscious due to unknown means. When he comes to, he finds his superior killed by a mysterious "curse." As the survivor of the incident, the police department transfers him to the "Special Concerns Bureau" of the police, which apparently deals with curses and other supernatural incidents. There, he meets the psychic Tenzen Kuo.

Tanio launched the novel series with the first novel in August 2024, with illustrations by Maiko Aoji. The second novel released on Friday.

Hiroichi previously drew the High School DxD: Asia & Koneko's Secret Contract!? manga spinoff of Ichiei Ishibumi's High School DxD light novel series. The manga debuted in Kadokawa's Dragon Age magazine in 2011. Yen Press published the manga's one compiled book volume.

Hiroichi also previously drew the manga for the Lapis Re:LiGHTs mixed-media project. The manga launched in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh in October 2019, and ended in January 2021.
