There will also be an outdoor screening of Isao Takahata's Grave of the Fireflies anime film at London's Barbican Centre on Wednesday August 27 at 8.30 p.m. The film is part of the Barbican's Animation at War strand. Grave of the Fireflies is based on author Akiyuki Nosaka's semi-autobiographical novel of the same name. The story follows a brother and sister's struggle to survive in the waning months of World War II.

My Neighbor Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies were double-billed in Japanese cinemas in 1988.
