About Gloomy Bear

Cute yet edgy, cuddly yet violent, Mori Chack's Gloomy Bear was created in the dawn of the year 2000. Professional manga artist and illustrator by day, on weekends Mori Chack sold Gloomy Bear art and merchandise on the streets of Osaka. Soon the character took hold as counter-culture enthusiasts embraced Gloomy Bear as the perfect antithesis to the typically cute-harmless characters loved by the "Kawaii-Mainstream." The license to love "Kawaii" even if you are "different" sets Gloomy Bear apart from the pack and drives the brand's massive appeal. Gloomy Bear has been embraced worldwide as the mascot of counter-culture, and a symbol of the Y2K phenomenon. For more about Gloomy Bear, visit gloomybearstore.com
