Global Search for the Next Isekai Hit Begins July 7: 'MyAnimeList x Honeyfeed Writing Contest 2025 - The Isekai Presented by Kadokawa' Launches Worldwide

TOKYO - June 25, 2025 - KADOKAWA CORPORATION will co-host the novel contest, MyAnimeList x Honeyfeed Writing Contest 2025 - THE ISEKAI presented by KADOKAWA, in partnership with qdopp, Inc. and MyAnimeList Co., Ltd.. The contest will be held on Honeyfeed, a novel submission platform operated by qdopp, with the goal of discovering exceptional storytelling talent from around the world.

This contest aims to discover fresh talent who can craft stories with the potential to stand alongside industry-defining titles like Overlord, Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-, The Rising of The Shield Hero, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and Sword Art Online. As an added bonus, the contest features a special guest in the jury panel: Aneko Yusagi, writer of The Rising of the Shield Hero. Winners even receive personalized feedback from this renowned and experienced Isekai author, an incredible chance to gain insight directly from one of the most successful storytellers in the genre.

This project aims to discover global talent through overseas novel platforms and bring “internationally-born” light novels to audiences both in Japan and worldwide. The MyAnimeList x Honeyfeed Writing Contest 2025 – THE ISEKAI presented by KADOKAWA marks the first step in this initiative. Moving forward, the project will expand through initiatives such as a Traditional Chinese writing contest hosted on KadoKado - the novel serialization platform operated by KADOKAWA TAIWAN CORPORATION - as well as the publication of selected winning titles from the JNC Original Light Novel Contest organized by M12 Media LLC.”
