Utawarerumono ZAN 2 Coming to Steam

TOKYO, JAPAN – September 30, 2025.

Shiravune is pleased to announce that Utawarerumono: ZAN 2, the hack-and-slash sequel from the developers at AQUAPLUS, will be coming to PC on Steam.

This version is based on the original, which was first released on the PlayStation®4 and 5 in 2021, and will come with a number of PC-specific optimizations and enhancements.

SERIES OVERVIEW
The Utawarerumono series, developed by AQUAPLUS, has been a sensation in Japan for over 20 years and a hit in the West for almost a decade. The core trilogy of tactics- JRPG adventures, Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception, and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth, are already available on Steam.

Utawarerumono: ZAN 2 follows and expands the story of Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth, punctuating its most exciting moments with fast-paced action gameplay. This title presents an opportunity for longtime fans to revisit their favorite moments and for new players to discover this classic series from a more casual and approachable perspective.

GAME FEATURES
3D HACK-AND-SLASH REBORN
ZAN 2 improves on its predecessor in every way, with a new Skill Board system and refined hack-and-slash elements that allow for a renewed focus on character exploration and growth.

Meanwhile, the new base system allows you to explore Oshtor's estate in Ennakamuy, where you can interact with your companions, progress the story, strengthen your characters, and more. You can even upgrade the base's functionality using points obtained in the course of gameplay!

ANIMATED STORYTELLING
No paper dolls here! 3D animated story cutscenes give every pivotal moment the sense of weight and place that it deserves, bringing the adventure to life like never before.

DREAM ONLINE
Co-op or in single player, the Dream Arena mode brings enemies, challenges, and maps that wouldn't be possible within the scope of the regular story. Play online with friends from around the world!
