posted on by Anita Tai
Whispered Words creator Takeshi Ikeda debuted a new series Bakepen no Mamiko-chan on Shogakukan's Big Comic platform on Friday with the first two chapters.

The series follows middle-schooler Mamiko Maeno who finds herself lost in her new school. She decides to pick up her late grandfather's old camera: a monster-sized Pentax camera nicknamed Bakepen.
Ikeda ended The Two of Them Are Pretty Much Like This (Futari wa Daitai Konna Kanji) manga in February 2022. Ikeda launched the manga in Comic Boost in January 2020. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for release in English.
North American manga publisher One Peace Books released Ikeda's Whispered Words manga in May 2014. The manga ran in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine from 2007 to 2011, and Media Factory published nine compiled book volumes. The manga inspired a television anime that aired in 2009. Crunchyroll streamed the anime outside Japan as it aired.
