As bizarre as it may be to suggest, the best viable scenario now is if the second season proves to be comparatively lacklustre. That would at least minimise the counterfactual enjoyment lost.

It might be on HIDIVE in the UK, so perhaps it is not lost yet?

The anime will stream in the United States on Anime Strike and in other territories on select digital platforms.

That means that in Germany an another streaming-service will have the stream-license?

Season 1 is on HiDIVE in Germany (and Crunchyroll)
But if Season 2 would end up on HiDIVE, we would face a problem - as HiDIVE simulcasts are premium only but premium is not avaiable in Germany.
-> same problem with Elfen Lied and Mezzo

As much as I am not surprised, I'm confused as to why they're putting it on AS in the US, since HiDive has both subbed and dubbed, but Strike has nothing Umaru related. I'm guess Sentai made some sort of contract with Amazon and at this point have no say for the American streaming.

Gross will watched fansubbed and compared to last season this is probably the only show I'm watching that way. At least Crunchyroll has most of the series I want to watch this season and I think they also have Black Clover,The Magus Bride,Kino's Journey, and I think the Net-juu no Susume series so I'm good to go.

Glad AS does not have a very good line up this season and all the good stuff is going to Crunchyroll and Funi.

I wish Sentai would've put this on HiDive it would've been a great simlucast for that platform (for the US fandom), but since AS snatched it away from CR I wouldn't be surprised if Sentai put it on HiDive for regions outside of US to view since it is very popular.

Im subscribed to HIDIVE for two reasons: Sentai DUBS first and exclusive subs second
it almost seems to me that Sentai is trying to split their catalog to make more money since
(if they continue this)
you'll have to subscribe to 2 platforms to get all their stuff
or am i missing something ?

Ugh. This is crap. Not only is there an asinine extra paywall to use Strike when you already have prime video, but the actual product is bad. I used Anime Strike once to watch Scum's Wish and the subs were garbage.

Amazon presumably offers Sentai more money than it can refuse. By this point, Sentai is aware that placing shows on Anime Strike is an unpopular move, and obviously HiDive needs content to lure subscribers, and given the nature of the industry, it needs new content. It doesn't seem like much of a coincidence that Sentai suddenly increases its licenses right as Strike was starting, and the fact that this continues, even with HiDive in the picture leads me to believe that these licenses wouldn't be happening without Amazon paying for exclusives.

It is ridiculous to me, but in a way I kind of admire the will too skip streaming a show because of how much you refuse to subscribe to a streaming service.

Because not everyone is made of money. I subscribe to five streaming services already, so I literally cannot afford to subscribe to yet another one just to watch a single show, especially the most expensive service out there that doesn't offer any free options.
