I don't know much about the source manga storylines, but I've loved the movie and its idea of the 'out of place objects' being something to fight over. And I've long wanted the movie to get a proper bluray release, so maybe now it'll happen =)

This is very cool news, imo. because at the very least, new anime is better than no anime lol

Very good news!
I wonder if Netflix would do a new adaptation of Zetman, more less rushed than the anime.

As late night anime starts to shrink as it's main purpose as ads for the home video release collapses anime gets a new champion streaming.

Wow...! This might actually get me to sign up for netflix again. Unbelievable.

I too have wanted for years for there to be more Spriggan anime (or at least a re-release of the manga). Although I do wonder why they're going with a Spriggan anime instead of something more recent with a manga that's still in print like Until Death Do Us Part (which probably ranks as my 4th favorite manga right behind Alita).

Isn't this the manga where (CMIIW) spoiler[a bunch of neo-Nazi attempt (and actually succeed) to revive (or clone?) Hitler using supernatural artifacts, but turns out he has no recollection of his past identity and crime, and is really horrified upon learning them?]
Wonder if they'll adapt that part. And if they do, how.

Believe it or not, someone tweeted that concern to Takashige-san about it.

Not sure if the German laws will apply to DP and Netflix.

Spriggan was one of the earliest anime I saw. Kinda interested in this, kinda not. I don't know if the story really holds up when it's not all omg I've never seen anything even remotely like this ever in my life. I recall something about a super powered teen fighting super powered secret military adults led by a 12 year old telekinetic cyborg out to rule the world.

Me as an anime fan in 2002 was hyped by that. I read that now and I kinda groan though. Imo Netflix puts their money behind a lot of anime that ends up like C+ B-, not terrible, but really just "decent enough" type of shows. Could be cool though. I haven't seen a crazy 90s anime story like that in a while.

I still have a gut feeling that they’ll do a Banana Fish routine when it got animated.
