As expected, the "special" (aka ep 12) is 100% a recap episode. The only original parts are the narration by Lena and the preview image for the second cour at the end.

Honestly, this probably would have been more fitting airing the week before the season starts in the fall as a kind of refresher.

And a new version of Hiroyuki Sawano's Avid song. I think is full English and the lyrics are quite different than the original song.
