2200-Nen Neko no Kuni Nippon TV Anime Confirmed With Cast, Staff, October 7 Debut

The official website for Rite Nekoha's 2200-Nen Neko no Kuni Nippon (Japan, the Land of Cats in the Year 2200) 4-panel manga confirmed the manga's television anime on Friday. The website also announced the anime's cast, staff, and October 7 television and streaming premiere on TV Kanagawa and various streaming services. The anime will air within TV Kanagawa's Neko no Hitai Wide Show (Show as Wide as a Cat's Forehead, a wordplay on the Japanese term for variety show, wide show.)
The cast includes:

- Azusa Aoi as Mugishima-san
- Miyu Hanasaki as Yume-chan
- Chitose Morinaga as Kinako
- Rie Hikisaka as Ai-chan
- Yūji Kameyama as Mugishima's father
- Yū Gotō as Library Committee Member
- Kōsuke Nakazawa as Courier
- Junya Asada as Narrator
IMAGICA Infos and mageworks Studio are producing the anime. RD is credited for the sound production.
The manga takes place in the year 2200, and Japan has become a land of cats as the human population's birth rate has declined. In this future world, cats can talk, learn, and work. The story follows a high school girl and her argumentative cat.
Nekoha debuted the manga in Neko Tomo in 2020. The manga's first compiled book volume shipped in Japan in June 2020, and the second volume launched in December 2024. The third volume will ship on October 9.
