I watched the NicoNico stream that aired earlier this day, it contained a talk show with two of the voices actors,one of the scriptwriters and one of the music composers.
According to the scriptwriter KAI, the anime will only adapt the 6th route but will develop the cast, each girl will get her time to shine. |

I also heard the first 30 minute audio from episode 1 recorded by someone who attended the event and i must admit that it sounds pretty great and very fun.
Moon and Terra routes are also pretty much confirmed so i think they can pull this off easily if they adapt common route + new Kagari route then Moon + Terra later on. |

Well that really kills my anticipation. I'm just gonna guess that its gonna be another rushed mess like Angel Beats or Charlotte.

With only 13 episodes along with a 'new' route, I'd rather label this as a spin-off than an adaptation. I mean, how much of the original story can there be in that?...

An hour-long first episode seems appropriate. They need to cover a lot of plot for the newcomers since this is more or less an advertisement for the visual novel, after all.
If more people thought that way about Kanon instead of judging it as an unfulfilling adaptation, it probably wouldn't get as much hate

This is pretty disappointing for me too. I was hoping to be able to recommend the anime to my friends that don't play VNs but it doesn't sound like this will really be a proper adaptation.

13 eps? Nothing to see here guys, unless you don't mind rushed nonsense plot. Just wait for the new Rewrite game that was confirmed localized if you want to enjoy the story.
Of course unless they go full original story then it might work.. MIGHT. Key's history with 12-13 eps anime is not good, always rushed even though it have good setting and plot (charlotte, angel beats) |

This is extremely disappointing. Massively. I was too focused on the episode count (+really tired) to look for any other info, so I'm just waking up to this bit of info. There's no way there's enough time for them all to truly shine. Unless they're splitting this into multiple seasons.
Are you talking about Kanon 2002? Because that was factually awful. Someone else mentioned Moon and Terra being confirmed? I can only see that possible if there's going to be at least another season. Terra alone should be 12-13 episodes. I don't know why I expected 8-Bit to get this right. There's still hope it can be entertaining in it's own right...but it definitely doesn't seem like it's going to be the "Rewrite" I know and love. |

Man this destroy my entire hype....i played all the game and i know its impossible to show even 1/3 of you greatness in 13 episodes, really sad.

Even with the 1-hour long first episode, their is no way 13 episodes is enough. Hopefully their is another season, if not it will just be a rushed mess.

2006. Even that version has its critics. It certainly wasn't groundbreaking, but it did its job. I'll keep my expectations for Rewrite in check. |

There will be a second season.
Masakazu Morita(Kotarou's VA) talked in the pre-screening event about the progress of the voice recording of the anime and said that they recently finished episode 7, he also said "Up to episode 7 is half of half of the story" I'm expecting that Rewrite will be a split cour show like Asterisk Wars, UfoUBW etc.. |

So I'm guessing this first season will be exclusively the common route and the new original route while the second season does Moon and Terra. That's not so bad I guess. |
