posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Ryukishi07 writes "PC game vol.1" shipping on December 21

The official website for the television anime of the Rewrite visual novel announced on Saturday that the anime will have 13 episodes that will ship across seven DVD and Blu-ray Disc home video releases. The first release will ship on September 28 with the one-hour first episode, and each subsequent release will have two episodes.

The fourth home video release slated for December 21 will feature a "PC game vol.1" specially written by the original game's story scenario writer Ryukishi07 (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Umineko no Naku Koro ni).

The first, second, fifth, and sixth home video volumes will include an extra CD, and the third volume will include a settings document collection. Each of the seven releases will include a three-sided box featuring an illustration by original character designer Itaru Hinoue, and a digipak featuring an illustration by anime character designer Masayuki Nonaka.

The anime will premiere on July 2 with a one-hour special first episode. The anime will air on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, MBS, and BS11.

The software's voice cast is returning for the anime:

The anime will portray a "sixth" route left untold in the game, which will tell the story of "that girl."

Tensho (Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic, The Fruit of Grisaia) is directing the anime at 8-Bit and also supervising the series scripts. Romeo Tanaka (Cross Channel scenario, Humanity Has Declined) and Visual Art's KAI (Clannad scenario, Grim Reaper Kyou) are credited with collaborating on the composition and scripts. Masayuki Nonaka (Hello!! KINMOZA chief animation director, The Fruit of Grisaia main animator) is adapting the game's original character designs by Key/Visual Art's Itaru Hinoue (Kanon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters!) for animation.

Runa Mizutani from the NanosizeMir dōjin music unit will perform the opening theme song "Philosophyz" and the ending theme song "Sasayaka na Hajimari" (A Modest Beginning). The songs used for the anime will be arranged versions of these songs. Anri Kumaki will perform the "End of the World" song for the series. Jun Maeda is writing and composing the song. Aoi Tada (theme songs for Charlotte, Angel Beats!) will also provide music for the series.
