Shield Hero looks good~. I adore the art style and like the animation. I'll need to keep an eye on it. ♥

This is perhaps the 1st time the day after an anime is announced (and original one at that) that a streaming site already announced it will stream it. Way to go, CR!

And yet, we're still waiting to have a format announced for Shield Hero.

The trailer looks good, surprising to hear it in English too.

I find this really funny that they've announced this so soon (that said, they did do something similar for Ancient Magus' Bride if I remember correctly).

However, I'm not going to complain as I quite enjoy the source material and think it's about darn time that an anime is in the works for it. I'm eager to see the series animated and the fact that I already know that it is confirmed to be streamed outside of Japan is just a big plus.

I am curious as to where the English-speaking narrator lives. For the spring '09 anime "Guin Saga", they did a similar English narration but it had Michael McConnohie in that one.

I really enjoy both the Shield Hero novels and the manga. If the anime uses a similar style and story to the manga, it will be really good. Or if it stays closer to the novel storyline, that's fine as well. I've been trying to convince my friend to check out either the novels or the manga but he hasn't bitten. Maybe he'll check out the anime with me and get hooked. The novels are comparitively expensive in Canada but worth it to me.

As I said before, there's something very School Live about "A place further than the Universe"... going to Antarctica thinking snow cones is a little bit off and the girl with the camera is not well dressed for the excursion.

So they're licensing it based on what, exactly? Studio, crew and this image? Or is there something they know they're not telling us?

Wait... is that supposed to be the Beatles' Abbey Road cover? Ok, something's really fishy here and its attracting penguins both real and imaginary...

As for the LN fantasy anime, it is what it is and who cares by this point; If you've seen more than one, they'll just keep making them...
The Rising[sic] of the Shield Hero though.... well...

"Sword, bow, lance and... Shield" No axe, minus ten points. Girl with animal ears, minus ten points. Bad English, minus ten points. Girl with wings, minus ten points. Empowering weapons, Ufotable syle "after image slashing for every weapon strike" Minus ten points.

Considering the English of the names, should the title be "Rising[sic] of Shield the Hero"? Argh, it's catching...

"His dignity, honor, money, objective [*giggle*, someone needs a thesaurus]"
"The Hero of the Shield has lost everything."

Minus 50 points, he still has his shield.

"The anime project is in the works."
And that's what scares me the most.

Oh to heck with it. I'll add it as a ONA for now, since we at least know it will be available online.

Glad to see CR picked up Shield Hero. When I first saw it announced I didn't care much for it, but seeing this PV and the characters it makes me kind of hyped. Thanks for saving it from Amazon, CR!

Getting it this early, I wouldn't be surprised if they are a member of the production committee.

Why does that scare you? Aside from you lack of interest in fantasy LN anime.
