What BS - eBay was already set up so you wouldn't see this sort of thing unless you were specifically looking for it. This country is getting more prude by the minute. |

I always used Yahoo Auctions for my R-18 needs since its more used in Japan, but yeah, just more and more communities and outlets banning sexual content. Already seen Japanese artists stop posting art on Twitter and just linking to their blog or Pixiv every time they draw a new piece.

It's unfortunate but I can see their logic. eBay is worldwide and laws for explicit content vary widely. For instance a manga that can be legally purchased in the US would get the buyer thrown in jail in Australia. eBay would be potentially liable as the medium for exchange.

I was done with eBay the moment they updated their terms in listing items. They’ve become like a bank that requires all your personal information in order to get paid under their new system ( speaking from U.S. view )
So this news article does not surprise me in the least. |

Between this, their new payment thing that is terrible, and steeply increased fees (they were acting all high and mighty that you could avoid the dreaded PayPal fee,but that was a drop in the bucket comparatively), I've got no reason to sell on there anymore. So many other places,reddit, Facebook,probably discord at this point,screw eBay.

Weird how that hasn't been a problem for the first 25 years of their business.
That's fine as long as what you want to buy is still in print and being sold by the publisher. For anything that is rare or out of print, that's not an option, and eBay has been by far the best place for finding a lot of the material they're banning. |

How am I going to sell all these doujins I bought from the seized property auction?!
On a serious note, it's a clear bias against anime and manga. I get eBay prefers to not scandalize the average seller and has obligations from investors. But why not allow the products to be sold with images of nudity and sexual content removed from the listing like Playboy magazines? Granted doujin covers are often explicit, they could still be censored. For those concerned, myfigurelist is a good place to sell doujins. The navigation is pretty wonky though. |

No, it's not. They're broadly banning adult content. They're not banning the vast majority of either anime or manga. The weeb community is taking this way out of context, and ANN is just stoking the fire. |

Dildos/sex toys are illegal in some countries (and even some US states have laws that discourage owning more than a certain amount), and yet those are still fine on the platform, for some reason. |
