I kind of want to read the one about Joan of Arc.

The thing about Madoka is that the universe lends itself to new stories. At least, stories about new characters; I'm not really interested in seeing more anecdotes about the original five...

I like slice of life, and I like madoka's world. To me it wouldn't be a big problem, but I do think that the series should rest for a little while.

I don't think they've milked the series nearly enough. So far they've only done a single cour TV anime, two recap movies, and one sequel movie.

They could do so much better.

Yeah this. I really don't need another Homubellion movie. yeahyeah she's a favorite for some. If anything will kill this franchise, it'll be this insistence on forcing Homura The One True Main Character into everyone's faces like Square did with Lightning in all those FFXIII things.

I'll gladly take more from this universe. The original 5 finding strange ways to come back to life will get rather lame though.

SIMBO: Later I'd like to do an anime about Mami Tomoe's everyday life.

Translation: I don't want to have to put too much effort in or think about any of the things that made the show a hit in the first place cause I don't really know about that sort of thing. I feel an every day life anime about a character that died 3 episodes into the show and has the least character development and thus the most freedom to work within the canon of any of the 5 would be far easier to make and that way we could just rely on the license to sell itself.

SIMBO: The new editions concluded the story, but we still haven't made enough. We still have the feeling that we haven't drunk enough.

Translation: We want more money but can't get Urobuchi and Gekidan Inu Curry to sign back on for more just yet.

I just love the phrasing "we haven't drunk enough" yet, as if to just blatantly imply that this is 100% about them and the kind of money they feel they can make. This is one of the most celebrated names in the industry right here folks.

If it wasn't already super obvious the movie pretty much set it in stone. If they do do more it'll be totally Homura centric in the long run even if it starts with the pretense of something else because she's the most popular character and the best chance at making the most overall money.

Aniplex has about a bajillion easier and far cheaper ways to print money with their exclusive access to hot licenses and titles for adaptation. There's absolutely no need to rush another Madoka sequel when they can just snatch up some already popular licenses where the work is largely done for them and just run their formula for making an easy hit with it. That said doesn't mean they wouldn't as the only thing better than easy more is more easy money.

honestly I'm surprised they haven't already done character albums, even some shows with a small fan-base have those

I wouldn't mind a followup to Rebellion I think there's some real potential to explore this new storyline.

I know a lot are saying they're milking the franchise but hey if Production I.G and co can milk Ghost in the Shell more with Arise a movie and a re-edit of Arise let the Madoka Partners have their turn for a while.

You mean they haven't already started making something like a year ago?

They should animate the Different Story manga, at least.

I am surprised more Madoka anime has not already been announced. I hope they announce something by summer. spoiler[The way the third movie ended lends itself for a continuation. It pretty much ended in a cliffhanger].

And I would not mind seeing Madoka slice-of-life but only after Urobuchi writes another TV series or at least 1 movie that offers spoiler[a true ending to the anime].

How many more times are they going to talk about this? They've been at this for years...
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-10-13/madoka-magica-story-will-not-end-in-3rd-film
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-10-16/new-madoka-magica-show-considered-after-3rd-film
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-10-29/madoka-magica-producer-open-to-more-after-3rd-film

Still not surprised though, given how massively successful the series is, they're going to want to milk it for all it's worth.

I'm actually really surprised they haven't been working on more Madoka since Rebellion came out. It wasn't exactly a conclusive ending...
Other than a follow up to that film, though, I'm pretty indifferent to more Madoka. Spin-offs aren't my thing at all.
