I think she sounds pretty good.
The cast is shaping up nicely so far by my ear. Now we just need to see whose playing Horii, Wakamatsu, and Yuzuki I read a comment a while ago about someone saying Terri Doty should play Yuzuki, which I would be all kinds of down for. It's not like it would be much of a strect either since Terri Doty was in Parasyte and Muv-Luv. We'll just have to wait and see though. |

I like her as Chiyo, but I have to admit I was expecting someone a higher pitched voice.

She sounds great, but damn it I was too distracted by Nozaki calling her Chiyo. I understand dubs have to do that sometimes to match lip flaps or whatever but if Nozaki ever called her by her first name, Chiyo's chest would burst.

She's adorable! And another unexpected choice comes my way. Honestly I don't recognize her other roles, so this is my first time hearing Juliet Simmons. I can't wait for the SE release now~

Same here. I was surprised but in a good way. I think she did a great job--going purely on this clip--of capturing Chiyo's spastic-ness, girlishness, and levelheadedness when disappointed by Nozaki-kun. Cannot wait to see this again dubbed. It's one of the funniest shows I've seen in recent years. |

Yup! JubyPhonic does dubs for Sentai under Juliet Simmons, as does her sister (Genevieve Simmons). She was cast in Outbreak Company, Tamako Market, and more recently, Akame ga Kill (among others). |

Whoa, that's Juby? Her covers are really good, awesome she landed anime roles. She joins Kira Buckland and Dawn M. Bennett in some of my favorite fan actors getting the recognition they deserve.
Sub purists that like to make the argument that there's a limited pool of dub actors haven't been keeping up with the tons of fresh blood getting promoted over the last half decade. |

Very happy with this. She kind of reminds me of Hilary Haag, as in I could imagine Juliet playing Teletha Testarossa.
I'm happy they didn't go too high pitched with Chiyo's voice, as I felt like they may have gone too "cutesy" if they did. Will definitely watch the dub for this one, as I've enjoyed all the clips I've seen of it. |

I didn't even realize the JubyPhonic connection until I saw her tweet yesterday. She sounds great as Chiyo.
You know what would be awesome? Casting her in a dub of Mekakucity Actors, considering how she made her mark with English versions of all the songs that inspired that series. Of course, that would require getting a dub or a physical release of MCA at all… (hint hint, Aniplex USA) |
