Banpresto August Lottery Highlights Include One Piece, DBZ, Madoka Magica, KanColle

Arcades around Japan are getting new prizes for Banpresto's Crane King games. This month's selection of prizes and figures range from shirtless Gintoki to tea-drinking ship girls, not to mention plush Yōkai Watch characters and Nami in a wedding dress.

Yōkai Watch

Jibanyan and Komasan are prepared for summer with mask versions of their counterpart. They measure 26cm (10in). Release date: August 6

Kyūbi, Gabunyan, and other yokai from the series will also get smaller plushies. Banpresto will release the first set of four on August 20. Jibanyan and Bushinyan cushions (pictured below) were released on August 6.

Other plushies set for August include Luna and Artemis cushions (August 6) and Kero and Spinal deluxe plush toys (August 20).

One Piece

Five new One Piece character figures will be available this month. Luffy (August 5), wedding dress Nami (August 20), and Roronoa Zoro (August 25) are part of One Piece SCultures BIG Banpresto Figure Coliseum IV collection. Five more characters are planned for this year. Two of the Dragon Ball Z figures (see below) are also from an iteration collection. The Banpresto Figure Colosseum – Figure King Summit Showdown is held every year and allows aspiring sculptors to submit their own One Piece creations into a voting contest. The winner's figure is then made as an official piece of merchandise. The Tenkaichi Budokai Dragon Ball competition works similarly.

Also up for grabs are CREATOR×CREATOR-DRACULE.MIHAWK-(August 20) and KING OF ARTIST THE TRAFALGAR.LAW (August 6). Dracule Mihawk comes in both a color and monochrome versions and measures 14cm (5.5in). Trafalgar Law measures 26cm (10in).

Dragon Ball Z

For its Tenkaichi Budokai Dragon Ball figures, Banpresto is adding Frieza army members Raditz and Nappa, and Goku. Nappa will appear first on August 20, followed by Raditz on August 25. They both measure about 14-15cm (5.5-6in) high. The Goku figure is a re-issue of the 2013 Tenkaichi Budokai Dragon Ball winner and measures 25cm (9.8in). A new Vegeta figure is also being released on August 6 as part of a new figure collection with oversight by professional sculptor Hiroyuki Nakazawa.

Kan Colle

When they aren't making war, the ship girls of Kan Colle are making tea. The "Ceylon Tea Party" collection includes Kongo which is set for release on August 27. Three more figures depicting the girls enjoying tea and cake will roll out before the end of the year. Chibi Kyun figures of Kirishima and Haruna, with the same tea theme, will be released the same day.

Madoka Magica, The IDOLM@STER, Gintama, Naruto Rounding out the prizes are individual figures from a fan-favorite shows. This month, Banpresto will add a white dress version of Madoka Kaname (August 18), a topless version of Gintoki (August 18), adult versions of Naruto and Sasuke (August 5), and idol Yayoi Takatsuki (August 5) figures.
