Mr. Osomatsu's Iyami Steps Up to The Pitcher's Mound

The mischievous Iyami made his way to the pitcher's mound to start Samurai Japan's warm-up match against Chinese Taipei (the Republic of China) at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka on Sunday. The flamboyant character looked cheerful in his Samurai Japan uniform worn over his bright purple pants. He laughed sarcastically in his characteristic "Sheeeh!" pose while audience members cheered him on, yelling "Iyami!"
He surprised spectators with a faster than expected pitch garnering a surge of applause.
The Mr. Osomatsu collaboration proved itself a boon for the team. All of the allocated Mr. Osmatsu seats with tie-in merchandise sold out. 1,700 seats at the Nagoya Dome and 1,615 seats at the Kyocera Dome were reserved for Mr. Osomatsu fans. Overall, each location sold over 30,000 tickets for warm-up matches the usually struggle to fill seats.
