MangaOne App Launches Mob Psycho 100 Manga Contest

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Shogakukan's web comic magazine Ura Sunday announced on Thursday the results of its first MangaOne Monthly Award manga contest. The contest invited aspiring manga creators to enter their works for a chance at publication in the MangaOne app and monetary prizes. The contest selected one grand prize winner and fours runners-up.

But people who didn't win in that contest don't have to give up hope. Ura Sunday announced details for its next three MangaOne Monthly Award contests. The second round of competition features a Mob Psycho 100 theme, and entries should be between 16 and 38 pages long. The deadline to submit is October 31.

The third contest has a sports or club activities theme, and entries should be 30 to 50 pages long. Entries are due by November 30. The fourth contest has a romantic comedy theme, and manga should be 28 to 40 pages long. The submission deadline is December 31.

All submitted manga must be complete one-shot stories. A "Free Theme" category also allows creators to submit a work outside the contest themes every month. Ura Sunday will announce the results of each contest on the 15th of the following month.

The top three prize winners each month will get publication in the MangaOne app. In addition, the winners will receive monetary prizes ranging from 30,000 yen (about US$289) for the Effort Award to 500,000 yen (about US$4,815) for the Grand Prize.

Mob Psycho 100 already offered a chance for the anime's viewers to get their fan artwork on air with episodes.

Manga creator ONE launched the Mob Psycho 100 series on Ura Sunday in 2012 and later in Shogakukan's MangaOne app in 2014. Shogakukan published the 13th compiled book volume of the manga on August 19.
