posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Olympic wrestler Saori Yoshida is collaborating with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon to release a special Machamp for the Nintendo 3DS games this month.

This exclusive Machamp's moves include Double-Edge, Bulk Up, Strength, and Quick Guard. Machamp cannot learn Double-Edge during normal gameplay. Strength is the fighting-type monster's signature move in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

"Saori's Machamp" will be available for the games at 7-Eleven, Tsutaya, Pokémon Center, and other game stores throughout Japan that have Nintendo 3DS Stations. The special Pokémon will only be available from February 8 to February 28.

Yoshida appears in a new commercial for the games that debuted on television in Japan on January 31.

Yoshida is a popular sports figure in Japan and has appeared on television for other promotions. She won Olympic gold medals in 2004, 2008, and 2012, and a silver medal in 2016. In her 20 year career, she has lost only three times internationally and won 13 consecutive world championships.

Before obtaining Yoshida's special monster, fans can head over to the Machamp Gym website and read about the Machop family.

A Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon commercial featuring New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka debuted on January 17. In the video, Tanaka appears as a Youngster and shows off his electric- and steel-type Pokémon Togedemaru. A special distribution event for the baseball player's Togedemaru has not been announced.
