Cyborg 009, Rock Band T-Bolan Celebrate Anniversaries in Joint Project

This year marks what would have been late Cyborg 009 manga creator Shotaro Ishinomori's 80th year. After returning from their latest hiatus in 2017, the rock band T-Bolan is also celebrating the 30th anniversary since their indies debut. Staff representing Ishinomori and T-Bolan decided to have a joint anniversary celebration.
The staff unveiled a collaboration visual on Monday. In the visual, the manga's main characters appear next to the rock band members who are drawn in the likenesses of four of the characters.
T-Bolan vocalist Arashi Moritomo reread the manga in light of the collaborative project. He noted that there are similarities between the manga's characters and the band's members because both work together and encourage each other.
The music video for the band's new song "Re:I" will feature Cyborg 009 illustrations. The video will debut on the band's website soon. Ishinomori and T-Bolan's websites will reveal more details of the collaboration in the future.
Ishinomori's Mizuiro no Ribon (She Wore a Blue Ribbon) also received a limited-edition reprint this year.
