Former NGT48 Rena Hasegawa Will Continue Entertaining as Voice Actress

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Former NGT46 idol Rena Hasegawa has signed with Shibuya-based talent agency Crocodile with plans to work as a voice actress and television personality. The talent agency announced Hasegawa joined its ranks on June 10.

Hasegawa is currently undergoing voice actor training at sound company BloomZ to hone her voice acting abilities. Crocodile stated that Hasegawa will appear at anime events as an anisong singer, host, and event coverage reporter.

The 18-year-old idol's first job will be as the "official reporter" for the second season of the Dropkick on My Devil! anime series. Hasegawa is also scheduled to be the MC at the the CIRCLE FIRE 4@Kawasaki Club Citta event on June 29 where she will perform a mini anime song concert. The event includes appearances by the Dropkick on My Devil! idol group Fallen POP (Yurie Kozakai, Rico Sasaki, and Marina Yamada), ZAQ, Miyu Takagi, i☆Ris' DJ zu, LiveRevolt, and Uki Satake.

Hasegawa said in an interview with Sankei Sports that she wants to stick with voice acting for a long time and has some role ideas already.

"I want to try playing a boy because my voice is husky, but I am also interested in a girlish role. I want to make voice acting my lifetime career," Hasegawa said.

Hasegawa "graduated" from NGT48's Team G on May 18 following the alleged assault of fellow team member Maho Yamaguchi. Hasegawa told Sankei Sports that she hopes one day to be reunited with Yamaguchi and Riko Sugahara.

"I want them to be happy," she said. "I want to make my dream come true in a different way, so someday let's co-star as a trio."
