Japanese Animation DVD Ranking, July 20-26

The DVD for Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo film has stayed at #1 for four straight weeks, surpassing the previous record-holder for a film by Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away at three weeks). Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season's volume 6 sold 8,000 Blu-ray Disc (BD) copies to rank #1 on the weekly BD chart. Toaru Majutsu no Index volume 7 sold 4,000 BD copies to land at #3 on the same chart. James Wong and 20th Century Fox's Dragonball: Evolution Special Edition DVD (pictured at right) debuted at #10 on Oricon's weekly DVD chart with 12,511 copies sold.
