Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods to Have Red Carpet Premiere in L.A.

posted on by Egan Loo
July 3 premiere will be 2 blocks from Anime Expo with U.S. dub cast & producer

North American anime distributor Funimation announced on Wednesday that it will hold a red carpet premiere for Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods in Los Angeles on Thursday, July 3. The 8:00 p.m. red carpet and 9:00 p.m. screening will be at the Regal LA Live Stadium 14 Theaters, just two blocks away from Anime Expo (July 3-6).

The English voice cast, including Sean Schemmel and Chris Sabat, and producer Justin Cook will be among the guests at the event.

Funimation describes the story:

Following the events from the Dragon Ball Z television series, after the defeat of Majin Buu, a new power awakens and threatens humanity. Beerus, an ancient and powerful God of Destruction, searches for Goku after hearing rumors of the Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza. Realizing the threat Beerus poses to their home planet, the Z-fighters must find a way to stop him before it's too late. Only Goku, humanity's Last Hope, can ascend to the level of a legendary Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus from destroying Earth, and possibly the entire universe! Fans of the series will be delighted to know that Battle of Gods is an original work from Dragon Ball creator, himself, Akira Toriyama.

The film will then play in over 350 theaters across North America on August 5, August 6, August 7, and August 9.
