Japan Mint to Release Dragon Ball Commemorative Coin Sets

The Japan Mint announced on Thursday that pre-orders for two Dragon Ball 40th anniversary coin sets would begin on Friday. The first set is a Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary coin set and includes six uncirculated coins (in denominations ranging from 1 to 500 yen) and a copper alloy commemorative medallion featuring Dragon Ball protagonist Son Goku and the Four-Star Dragon Ball in a special case. The second set is a Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary 2025--Proof coin set and features six 2025-Proof coins (also in denominations from 1 to 500 yen) and a sterling silver (92.5% pure) medallion featuring Goku and “Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary” in a specially designed leather case.

The regular Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary coin set will cost 3,100 yen (about US$21). The Japan Mint notes only 60,000 units will be produced, and orders begin on September 5 and continue until September 25. The Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary 2025 -Proof coin set is 16,500 yen (about US$111). The Japan Mint notes only 25,000 units will be produced, and orders begin on September 5 and continue until September 25.

Both coin sets can be ordered online through the Japan Mint website and are slated to ship in early December. However, the Japan Mint does not ship internationally.
