Kinda disappointed about the translation issues. I really want to give this game a chance but I sadly haven't got time to try it.

I also kinda wonder why they decided to release this game and The Hundred Line so close to one another. I haven't even finished half of THL.

I’d hazard a guess that the way TooKyo works (they don’t really seem to self-publish anything) meant that Aniplex got to decide when Hundred Line was released and DMM Games got to decide when Shuten Order was released and since Hundred Line got a simultaneous global release with a good quality translation, it was probably sitting in post-production with a big(ish) advertising campaign, while DMM was like “Shuten Order’s done? Rush the translation internally and get it out as quickly as possible.”

Do you have to play all the routes to get a "true end route" or is it okay if you skip the routes that arent very good

You have to play every route. Each one contain vital information about the central mystery and world that the others don't, and there are major story reasons why Rei must go through all five.

I mean, you don't have to do anything. It's a game. But credits won't roll unless you go through all of them.
