Persona 5 Anime Special's Preview Video Reveals A-1 Pictures Animation
posted on by Karen Ressler
Aniplex began streaming a preview of Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-, the tie-in television special for Atlus' upcoming Persona 5 RPG, on Tuesday. The video reveals the main staff. Unlike the game's opening animation, which is animated by Production I.G, the special is animated at A-1 Pictures.
In addition, Atlus began streaming an 18-minute gameplay video from the beginning of the game's story:
The special will premiere on September 3 from 7:00 to 7:55 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by airings on Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11. The first half will feature interviews with the cast and staff and the second half will be an original animation that recounts the prologue story of the young thief organization at the center of the game.
Takaharu Ozaki (director of photography on Occult Academy, Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW) is directing the animation at A-1 Pictures. Shinichi Inotsume (Yona of the Dawn, Gangsta.) is writing the script and Toshiyuki Yahagi (Joker Game) and Keita Matsumoto (Bungaku Shōjo) are adapting the character designs for animation.
The latest entry in the Persona role-playing games will ship for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan, and on February 14, 2017 in the Americas. Atlus will offer the American release in a "Take Your Heart" Premium Edition that includes a soundtrack CD, a Morgana plush, a hardcover art book, a steelbook, and a school bag. The game will also be available in a SteelBook Edition.
