Screening takes place on Saturday at Plaza Senayan XXI

Indonesian film production company Kaninga Pictures announced on Monday that it will hold a limited free screening of Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away anime film on Saturday, August 20, at the Plaza Senayan XXI in Jakarta. Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki and president Koji Hoshino will be present for the screening.

Spirited Away focuses on Chihiro, a little girl moving to a new house with her parents. On the way to their new house, they stop by an abandoned amusement park, which hides a secret bathhouse for gods and spirits. Chihiro's parents violate the rules of the place, and are imprisoned as pigs by the bathhouse's proprietor Yubaba. Forced to work under Yubaba's employ, Chihiro is aided by Yubaba's servant Haku in her long journey to return to the other side of the world with her parents.

The film premiered in 2001, and won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in the 75th Academy Awards.
