posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Series to stream inside, outside Japan only on Amazon

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka's Grand Blue Dreaming (Grand Blue) manga began streaming the show's second promotional video on Friday. The site also revealed the show's July 13 premiere date, a new key visual, and the theme song artists.

Shōnan no Kaze will perform the show's opening theme song "Grand Blue." The above video previews the song. Voice actors Yūma Uchida, Ryōhei Kimura, Hiroki Yasumoto, and Katsuyuki Konishi will perform the show's ending theme song "Konpeki no al Fine" under the unit name "Izu no Kaze."

The series will premiere on MBS and TBS on July 13 at 26:25 (effectively July 14 at 2:25 a.m.), before airing later on BS-TBS and AT-X. The series will stream inside and outside of Japan only on Amazon Prime Video.

The anime stars:

Yūma Uchida as Iori Kitahara

Ryōhei Kimura as Kohei Imamura

Hiroki Yasumoto as Shinji Tokita

Katsuyuki Konishi as Ryujiro Kotobuki

Chika Anzai as Chisa Kotegawa

Maaya Uchida as Nanaka Kotegawa

Toa Yukinari as Azusa Hamaoka

Kana Asumi as Aina Yoshiwara

Shinji Takamatsu (Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!, Gintama, Daily Lives of High School Boys) is serving as director, scriptwriter, and sound director at animation studio Zero-G (DIVE!!, Battery the Animation, Tsugumomo). Hideoki Kusama (Battery the Animation) is the character designer.

Kodansha Comics publishes the manga in English digitally, and it describes the story:

After moving out on his own to a seaside town, Iori Kitahara makes a college debut he never anticipated. A new chapter of his life unfolds, full of diving with beautiful girls and shenanigans with a gaggle of lovable bastards! Idiot-expert Kenji Inoue and au naturel authority Kimitake Yoshioka bring you a glorious college tale filled with booze-fueled antics!

Crunchyroll is also publishing the manga digitally as new chapters come out in Japan.

Inoue and Yoshioka launched the manga in Good! Afternoon in April 2014. Kodansha published the manga's 10th volume on March 7. The manga marks the first time Inoue is authoring an original manga work. The series has more than 2 million copies in print.

The manga was nominated in the Best General Manga category at Kodansha's 41st annual Manga Awards last year.
