Series based on Masakazu Katsura's manga also premieres in Japan tonight

Japanese entertainment channel WakuWaku Japan announced on Friday that it will begin airing the live-action series adaptation of Masakazu Katsura's I''s manga on the same day at 10:00 p.m. GMT +8.

WakuWaku Japan describes the show:

Its main character, "Ichitaka Seto" has entered his second year in high school. He's held a flame for "Iori Yoshizuki", a girl in his class, since the year prior.

Luckily for him, he's been selected to act on an executive committee with Iori to organize a "New Students Welcome Party". But just as he's getting on friendly terms with Iori, he suddenly comes face-to-face with a friend from his childhood, "Itsuki Akiba".

The 13-episode series will also premiere in Japan tonight at 9:00 p.m. and air on SKY PerfecTV!'s BS Skyper! channel and Skyper! on Demand service. A special behind-the-scenes program aired first on December 14.

Both Keisuke Toyoshima and Mari Asato are directing the series, and Takashi Watanabe is composing the music.

The manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1997 to 2000. The original manga has 10 million copies in print.
