Dr. Stone Artist Boichi Ends Origin Manga

posted on by Karen Ressler
Manga launched in September 2016

This year's 10th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine announced on Monday that Boichi's Origin manga will end in the next issue on Saturday. The 10th and final volume will ship in June.

The story takes place in 2048, at a time when Japan is connected to Eurasia via a transcontinental railroad. Tokyo has become a hotbed of terrorism and crime, and mysterious beings attack people night after night. The manga follows Origin, a robot who hunts these beings.

Boichi launched the manga in Young Magazine in September 2016. Kodansha will publish the ninth volume on Wednesday.

Boichi and writer Riichirou Inagaki are working on the Dr. Stone manga, which launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2017 and is inspiring an anime this summer. Viz Media publishes the manga in English.

JManga released part of Boichi's Sun-Ken Rock manga before it ended its service in May 2013, and Crunchyroll later picked up the manga for digital publication in English. Boichi also drew a spinoff manga of Yū Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana's Terra Formars manga titled Terra Formars Asimov (Terra Formars Gaiden Asimov).
