Anime Festival Asia Holds AFA Station Online Events on August 29, September 5-6

Events will have guest appearances, performances, e-marketplace, community features

Sozo Pte. Ltd., the organizer of the Anime Festival Asia conventions, announced on Tuesday that it will hold a new digital event known as AFA Station on August 29, and September 5 and 6. The event will have a dedicated platform for streaming events, scheduling, and community organization functions, all of which are supporting guest appearances and performances and an e-commerce marketplace. The platform will allow attendees to organize and chat with each other.

The company added that it is currently hindered from holding physical events due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, but is providing the online events to "bring the festival experience" to fans.

Sozo Pte. Ltd. previously held the AFA United streaming events in April earlier this year, also due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Anime Festival Asia conventions take place in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan. The event is one of the largest anime and Japanese pop-culture conventions outside Japan. 2015's Anime Festival Asia in Singapore drew 90,669 visitors. Aside from Anime Festival Asia and its attached I Love Anisong label, Sozo also owns JLive Asia, and organizes the Japan Music Festival brand.
