Manga moves to Bessatsu Coro Coro Comics, Coro Coro Manga Toshokan in next chapter

The November issue of Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine revealed on Friday that Kokonasu Rumba's Animal Crossing New Horizons: Deserted Island Diary (Atsumare Doubutsu no Mori: Mujintо̄ Diary) manga will move its serialization to Shogakukan's Bessatsu Coro Coro Comics magazine and Shogakukan's new Coro Coro Manga Toshokan web service beginning with the next chapter.

The manga is based on the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game. Viz Media licensed the manga and released the first volume on September 14. The company describes the manga:

Join your favorite characters from Animal Crossing™: New Horizons for all-new adventures in this official manga! Read the gag-filled adventures of four goofy residents living among the Animal Crossing™: New Horizons characters. Includes a bonus Animal Guide with game tips!

Rumba launched the manga in Coro Coro Comics in June 2020. Shogakukan published the manga's third compiled book volume on June 28.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons game is the latest entry in the Animal Crossing video game franchise and the first game in the series for the Nintendo Switch. The game was originally slated to ship in 2019, but was delayed to March 20, 2020. The game sold 1.88 million copies in Japan in its first three days, the highest ever number of first-week copies sold for a Switch game in Japan. As of June 30, the game has sold 33.89 million copies worldwide. The game will get its last major free update on November 5, alongside a paid DLC update.
