Short Anime Screenings at London International Animation Festival

Some screenings are available online globally

The current online London International Animation Film Festival is screening numerous short films by Japanese animators, including Sumito Sakakibara's "Iizuna Fair," trailered above. While that film is only available in the UK and Ireland, many of the online screenings are available globally, as indicated in the listing below. The general ticket page is here.

Online tickets are available worldwide for the "Edge of Frame presents – Alone with the Moon" programme, which includes "Flower," an American film but by a Japanese animator, Naoko Tasaka.

Online tickets are available worldwide for the "International Competition Programme 1 – Abstract Showcase" programme, which includes "Sphere" by Wataru Iwata. The programme will also have a screening at the Garden Cinema in Covent Garden on Saturday November 26 at 9 p.m.

Online tickets are available worldwide for the "Marvellous Animations for 8-15 year-olds" programme, which includes "Polar Bears Bordedom" (official page) by Koji Yamamura. The programme will also have a screening at the Barbican Centre on Sunday November 27 at 2 p.m.

Online tickets are available in the UK and Ireland for the "International Competition Programme 4 – Being Human" programme, which includes "The House of Loss" (official page), by the Japan-based Korean animator Jeon Jinkyu.

Online tickets are available in the UK and Ireland for the "International Competition Programme 5 – Into the Dark" programme, which includes "KRASUE" (official page) by Ryu Hirano.

There will be a screening of the "Figures in Focus – The Magical World + Screentalk" programme at the Barbican Centre on Tuesday November 29 at 6 p.m., which includes "Kamakura (Snow Hut)" (official page) by Yoriko Mizushiri.

Online tickets are available in the UK and Ireland for the "International Competition Programme 7 – Looking For Answers " programme, which includes "Iizuna Fair" (trailer) by Sumito Sakakibara and "Magnified City" (trailer) by Isaku Kaneko. The programme will also have a screening at the Garden Cinema in Covent Garden on Wednesday November 30 at 6.30 p.m.

Online tickets are available in the UK and Ireland for the "International Competition Programme 8 – Long Shorts" programme, which includes "Bird in the Peninsula" (trailer) by Atsushi Wada. The programme will also have a screening at the Garden Cinema in Covent Garden on Wednesday November 30 at 8.30 p.m.

Online tickets are available worldwide for the "Best of the Next 2" programme, which includes "What a Wonderful Prayer" by Kannosuke Enomoto. The programme will also have a screening at the Horse Hospital in Bloomsbury on Friday December 2 at 9 p.m.

Online tickets are available worldwide for the "Music Video Session" programme, which includes the music video for Unmet Ozcan's "Oblivion" by Kōhei Nakama. The programme will also have a screening at the Horse Hospital in Bloomsbury on Saturday December 3 at 7 p.m.

Online tickets are available worldwide for the "Late Night Bizarre" programme, which includes "In The Big Yard Inside The Teeny Weeny Pocket" by Yōko Yuki. The programme will also have a screening at the Horse Hospital in Bloomsbury on Saturday December 3 at 9.15 p.m.
