GeeXPlus' New GeeXProductions Division Produces Gigguk's Bâan -The Boundaries of Adulthood- Anime Short Movie

GeeXPlus, Dwango and Kadokawa's internet influencer talent agency subsidiary, announced during its Anime Expo panel on Thursday that it has founded the GeeXProductions IP division, which is producing anime YouTuber and influencer Gigguk's anime short film Bâan -The Boundaries of Adulthood- (Bâan -Otona no Kyōkai-). The anime will open theatrically in Tokyo on August 24, before debuting on Gigguk's YouTube channel alongside a behind-the-scenes video. The release on YouTube will have both the Japanese dub and an English dub.

GeeXProductions describes the anime as centering on two protagonists named Arai Daichi and Rinrada Ratchamanee, searching for a place where they belong. The story is set in two worlds: the Japan in the real world, and the fictional world of Euthania, which are connected by each other throuigh a warp gate. Arai Daichi, a 21-year-old man who has conflicts with his family, seeks to run away as far as he can to Euthania. Meanwhile, Rinrada Ratchamanee, a 19-year-old Euthanian, sets out from her village to connect with Japan.
The setting of Euthania has a mild and peaceful climate that hosts fantasy races, but also holds threats such as large monsters. The setting is inspired by Thai and Southeast Asian mythology.
Yoshimitsu Ōhashi (Galaxy Angel, Witchblade, Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture) is directing the anime at studio daisy. Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss, The Rising of The Shield Hero, The Apothecary Diaries) is composing the music.
The anime will star Haruna Mikawa as Rin and Shōya Ishige as Daichi.
The event also introduced GeeXProductions' other projects, including Dillon Goo's original 12-episode 3D Blender animation Soul Mart (the franchise is also a comic series) and OtakuVS's indie animated short series Otachan! Rabbit Season.
