Live-Action Power Pro Drama Series Reveals Cast

ABC TV announced the cast on Tuesday for Power Pro Drama 2025 -Heibon na Shin Shakaijin no Ore ga Success Shita Hanashi- (Power Pro Drama 2025 -The Story of How I, an Ordinary New Working Adult, Found Success-), the live-action series based on Konami's Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū (Powerful Pro Baseball) baseball game series. The series will premiere on ABC TV on September 26 at 12:24 a.m. (effectively, September 27). Kohei Tsuji of the comedy duo Nippon no Shachō is writing the live-action drama's script.

The drama's story centers on protagonist Junpei Nishino, a first-year working adult who loves the Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū game. He devoted himself to baseball in high school, but a failure in an important game left him traumatized. He has since then experienced a series of defeats in life, and his extremely ordinary life continues. As he starts his first day at work, he discovers the mysterious game "Powerful Working Adult." Through the mysterious game, Junpei and his colleagues' abilities are revealed.

Konami's Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū game series launched in Japan in 1994, and has since then appeared on many game platforms and consoles including Sega Saturn, PlayStation, PlayStation 2/3/4, PlayStation Portable and Vita, Wii, and Nintendo Switch, among others.

Konami's Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū smartphone game debuted in 2014, and has been downloaded 44 million times as of 2021. The smartphone game inspired a web anime that debuted in 2021. The web anime had four 10-minute episodes.
