Production I.G, Naoki Urasawa Make Anime for Cartier's Panthère Luxury Brand
posted on by Ken Iikura-Gross
French luxury goods conglomerate Cartier announced on Thursday it has partnered with Production I.G for an anime based on its LA PANTHÈRE DE CARTIER brand. The anime will feature manga creator Naoki Urasawa (Yawara!, Monster, 20th Century Boys, Pluto) as a creative partner with music composed by Ayatake Ezaki (live-action 5 Centimeters per Second, musical contributor on BELLE, Muteking the Dancing Hero) and lyrics by Japanese musician Miu Sakamoto. Actor Mitsuki Takahata is set to sing the vocal parts, and Takahata will also star in the anime itself with fellow actors Kaya Kiyohara, Tomo Yamaguchi, and Ken Watanabe.

The anime is set to debut on the LINE VOOM platform on September 18 — one day before the grand opening of the Cartier Ginza 4-Chome Boutique in Tokyo. The anime will see a general release, but the staff have not yet detailed when or on which platforms it will be available.
