Interesting! I thought the mangaka has planned beforehand who would survive or not, but knowing that everyone had a "life/death" route makes it better. To some extent, the results were also a surprise for him!

As a fan of the anime, I love getting insight in the mangaka's creative process like this! It really helps explain why this series is so hard-hitting and meaningful.
