Fuuto Pi Director Praises Student's Cyclone Joker Unicorn Gundam Model
posted on by Ken Iikura-Gross
FUUTO PI director Yousuke Kabashima complimented the Kaijō Junior & Senior High School's model club for a Unicorn Gundam model painted as Kamen Rider W's Cyclone Joker on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday. Kabashima noted that his son was touring the school during its culture festival and excitedly told the model's builder that his father was the director of FUUTO PI.

As of press time, Kabashima's post has received over 50 comments and over 3,400 reposts. The comments were overwhelmingly positive, with several commenters making jokes about Mobile Suit Gundam UC or Kamen Rider W (the series that inspired FUUTO PI). The Kaijō Junior & Senior High School model club itself reposted Kabashima's post.
The Fūto Tantei manga, a sequel project for the 2009 Kamen Rider W series, launched in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine in August 2017. The FUUTO PI anime premiered in August 2022. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The series stars Koki Ushiyama as Philip/Kamen Rider W and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Shōtarō Hidari/Kamen Rider W. The series got an anime film Fūto Tantei: Kamen Rider Skull no Shōzō (FUUTO PI: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull) that screened in Japan in November 2024. The film tells the story of the beginning of Kamen Rider W.
